The CoSMo Company was present at the annual DistribuTECH Conference and Exhibition in San Diego, California.

CoSMo VP Sales North America Richard Schuler was joined by his team in the SoCal business hub and met with leaders in the utility sector to discuss CoSMo’s transformational technology.

DistribuTECH is a fantastic event each year for CoSMo and 2017 was no exception. It’s one of the first opportunities for the utilities sector, the world’s biggest consulting firms, and system integrators specialized in energy transmission and distribution to connect each year, and all of those actors are starting to recognize the value that a technology company like CoSMo is bringing to the table.

DistribuTECH is the leading annual electric power transmission and distribution conference & exhibition event that addresses technologies used to move electricity from the power plant through the transmission and distribution systems to the meter and inside the home. More than 11,000 people from nearly 80 countries converge at DistribuTECH each year to share information, network, and close deals worth millions of dollars and affecting electricity and water utilities across the United States.

This strategic asset investment tool allows utilities to optimize both their operational and capital expenditures (OPEX and CAPEX) over a horizon of thirty to fifty years. With the approaching ‘wall of investment’ a challenge faced by electrical utilities across America, it was no surprise that demonstrations of CoSMo’s AIO application were well received.

Better known among utility experts now, CoSMo had particularly fruitful meetings with strategic partners which were impressed with the company’s unique Asset Investment Optimization (AIO) technology.

“Our meetings with solution providers like EY and Accenture were very positive for CoSMo in North America,” Schuler said. “In addition, we met with large software solution vendors including IBM, Schneider Electric, Doble, and Siemens as some of these OEM deployments of the CoSMo technology look promising”

North American utilities face various challenges in 2017 and CoSMo’s technology is designed to help utilities meet those challenges by augmenting the intuition of the C-suite decision makers.

“CoSMo’s AIO application is designed to help utility executives make optimal decisions,” explains Schuler. “It’s not an application that is meant to take over decision making for them, and it’s not about crunching historical data to point to potential trends correlated with that history. Instead it identifies the causal factors that drive change and gives utilities reliable and interconnected insights into future events.”
