Cosmo Tech’s VP of Marketing, Dylan Kissane, will be speaking at BEST Lyon’s Start up Camp on Thursday 26 April.

BEST, the Board of European Students of Technology, is an association at the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) in Lyon. INSA Lyon is an engineering school ranked among the top universities of Science and Technology in Europe.

BEST Lyon is a part of 96 local BEST groups in 33 countries around Europe. Their goal is to give students opportunities to develop academically and professionally in engineering and management. With more than 3300 members total, BEST promotes unity and diversity through cultural exchanges and opportunities to experience new cultures and form connections all over Europe.

Kissane is excited at the opportunity to speak to budding entrepreneurs on what it takes to succeed in creating a startup. “Cosmo Tech always jumps at the chance to share their journey with students and young entrepreneurs,” he said. “By sharing our experiences, we can encourage creativity and inspire others to not give up on their ideas. Realizing your full potential might be the hardest part, but after it’s achieved, it’s a wonderful feeling to see an idea grow right in front of your eyes.”

Cosmo Tech’s involvement doesn’t stop with Kissane’s address. During the Start Up Camp students will be put into groups where they will participate in seminars and coaching workshops. Eventually creating a business plan in their groups, the students will profit from the expertise of Business Coaches and various company attendees. At the end of the event, the participants will present their final project in front of a jury. The jury will then award various prizes to the best project, including a day spent at a startup. Cosmo Tech has agreed to host the winning team at their offices in Lyon, allowing the students to sit in on meetings and ask questions, while experiencing the start up culture.  “We’re more than happy to host the students,” says Kissane. “We have a very diverse team at Cosmo Tech, and I think both the students and our Cosmonauts will benefit from this learning experience.”

Also participating the at the Start Up Camp will be other local startups such as  La Centrale du Sport, Miuros, Copromatic, and Teepy as well as two other members of Lyon French Tech, Beelys and Prismo.

Returning for its third year, the Start Up Camp takes place on Thursday 26 April running from 1 – 8 p.m. at INSA de Lyon in Villeurbanne.
