Cosmo Tech’s Aaron Forshaw will be attending the Network Asset Performance conference today, 25 September.

The Network Asset Performance (NAP) conference, which takes place in Birmingham, UK, will help set the path for asset management strategies and enhancing operational performance as companies, regulators, and asset managers move towards the business end of planning for RIIO-2. The conference brings together leaders from gas and power to tackle challenges and pinpoint areas for concentrated investment. Forshaw continuously represents Cosmo Tech at events across the UK, teaching asset managers, regulators, and policy makers about their innovative solutions for optimizing their asset investment plans.

This year’s theme is Improving Asset Performance, Mitigating Risk, and Building Resilience. Through a mix of new case studies, interactive panel sessions and workshops, this conference will address how networks can mitigate risk and better monitor assets; adopt innovative strategies in the supply chain; prepare for transport decarbonization; and optimize data to transform asset management.

The UK is preparing to implement RIIO – 2, the next price controls for the network companies running the gas and electricity transmission and distribution networks. RIIO (Revenue = Incentives + Innovation + Outputs) is designed to encourage network companies to put stakeholders at the heart of their decision-making process, invest efficiently to ensure continued safe and reliable services, innovate to reduce network costs for current and future consumers, and play a full role in delivering a low carbon economy and wider environmental objectives. The first RIIO was introduced by the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) to give network companies a level of revenue that covers their costs and allows them to earn a reasonable return, if they deliver value to their customers, behave efficiently, and achieved Ofgem’s targets.

Network is a sister publication to the well-established and highly successful brand, Utility Week, and provides a much-needed resource for engineers in the UK’s gas, power, and heat networks at a time of transformation and disruption across the nation’s energy system. Cosmo Tech previously attended Utility Week Live in May. Attendees can also get 15% off of ticket purchases when using the code ‘Cosmo15‘ upon registration.
